Ray Allen trade
In the world of sports, a big question on Celtic's fans minds is whether Ray Allen will remain on the Celtics roster. It is amazing how quickly fans forget what players did for their team three years ago, this is the case for Ray Allen and the fans of the Boston Celtics. Three years ago Ray Allen was picked up in a trade that sent him to the Celtics to become apart of the "big three" along side Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, that season the Celtics won their first NBA championship since 1986. The Celtics have lost 13 out of their last 23 games with an injury plauged season. Key injuries to star players Kevin Garnett (hyper extended knee) and Paul Pierce (ankle) have lead to the current losing. One player that did not step up during this time was Ray Allen who is in the 5th and final year of his 85 million dollar contract that he signed with the Seatle Supersonics in 2005. Allen who is currently making 18.7 million dollars this season is on the trading block to acquire a better fit into the Celtics lineup and make a run at the Championship. Players that the Celtics may get consist of Monta Ellis who is a shooting guard from Golden State or Antwain Jamison a forward from the Washington Wizards. Both players would be huge assets to the Celtics, Ellis is averaging 26.2 points a game and Jamison is averaging 20.5 points a game. I believe the Celtics do need to make some sort of change that includes trading Ray Allen because he'll be a free agent at the end of the year and simply not the player he was three years ago. Monta Ellis would be the best fit into the Celtics lineup because the Celtics need a backup point guard. The Celtics need a change.
